SOMA®
SOMA® is a form of structural integration (SI) and is best described as a kind of body education that optimizes the function of the human being. Through physical manipulation of the body's facial (connective tissue) network as it releases the field of gravity, the client lives differently in his or her own skin. Not only is standing and moving more efficient and graceful, but most pain syndromes are dramatically reduced or disappear. In addition the client learns simple movement practices that, when integrated into his or her daily life, serve to perpetuate the rebalancing process long after the SI sessions are complete.
Eleven individual sessions comprise the SOMA® series, each working progressively deeper to release specific layers of connective tissue like gently peeling an onion. Accessing, rebalancing, and integrating each layer allows for the release of chronic stored muscle and facial strain (which blocks the flow of energy) and structural aberrations in effect realigning the entire body.
